Make a Wordle using http://wordle.net

"Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends."
I have found that Wordles can be used in many ways.  Students can introduce themselves to you or to someone else using descriptive words about themselves.  Students can describe a character in a story using a wordle.  They can make a wordle of all action verbs, or adverbs, or adjectives.  They can copy a part of an important speech into a Worldle and the more prominent words will be larger.  They can create a Wordle for a poster describing a city, or an activity, such as Basketball.  Here is a simple Worldle I created about Reading. Have fun...create your own Worldle.
